On 2 June 2025, the Bulgarian Association of Social Entrepreneurs organized a national round table on “Assessing the Ecosystem for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship in Bulgaria – Social Barometer”, as part of the project “Social Barometer” (2023-1-MK01-KA220-YOU-0000156667).
The Social Barometer is an innovative tool for analyzing and monitoring the environment for social entrepreneurship, evaluating the sector across four key dimensions:
- 🌱 Quality of Life
- 👥 Human Capital
- 🏛 Support Systems
- 💶 Access to Finance
The event brought together leading institutions and experts, including:
- Borislav Gutsanov, Minister of Labour and Social Policy
- Snezhana Apostolova, Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality
- Yanisalava Shopova, Mayor of “Odesos” District, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and local administration.
- A video address by Patrizia Bussi, Director of ENSIE – the European Network of Social Integration Enterprises
The round table reaffirmed the importance of the social economy for sustainable development and demonstrated the commitment of institutions to supporting the sector.
